VENTURE X follows the story of three unpopular senior citizens, what you would consider as losers within your typical high school movie. The movie centers about Thomas, whose 17th birthday party is being thrown by his friend Costa with the aid of his friend JB, Costa also hires an A/V geek from college named Dax, to film the full thing because he wants everybody to never forget it. Whatever they had as the primary goal for this party, nothing will prepare these phones the massiveness that this event might be, this is the celebration your parents have nightmares of you throwing at your house. PROJECT X is the party which will make unknown kids such as Thomas, Costa and JB legends in senior high school. Just so everybody is aware, this film is performing R, go wonder why, things literally get out of control and the mayhem is all from proportion.
The director, Nima Nourizadeh, makes his film debut along with PROJECT X, the whole found-footage feel with the film, makes it seem real certainly, so get ready intended for shaky cameras, and producer Todd Philips (“The Hangover”) makes sure to offer that same “holy sh*t” feeling from once you watched the first THE HANGOVER. To me, PROJECT X is virtually SUPERBAD on steroids. With 88 minutes regarding running time, you really dont need any further time or less, you see how they will plan the party, how the word gets out and things get completely out of hand. The movie to me was funny, not to the point that i couldnt breathe, but funny enough to entertain me. Thomas, is the most average kid outside the crew, the normal one along with the most likeable, Costa is the friend who thinks is cooler compared to the other two and often comes off to be a jerk and JB automagically is the fat buddy who gets made fun of, a lot. While this movie stands alone as a comedy in the located footage department, it definitely had its amusing moments, the dialogue between the characters is probably something youd hear young adults say. This movie doesnt aim to offer remarkable acting worthy of an award, or a lesson as soon as the movie, the only thing this aims is to make you want to be at that party and it also does it perfectly. From the music, to the WTF times, more than one teenager will wish which they were at this party. When it comes to parents however, this is the movie they will NOT see.
Everything youve imagined for a party happening, happens here, and maybe even a lot more. To the point of experiencing helicopters over the household, neighboors calling the SWAT group, a Mercedes inside a new pool, and even at one point even the radio promoting your house bash, etc. this movie makes a statement to changing the overall game about parties. PROJECT X to me felt more like an experience, youre just at the theater to presence bad decisions unravel and discover how the greatest celebration of all time ended up being.
